Jarrow Rice Protein Powder
On the positive side, I like the short ingredient list and the fact that there are no added flavorings and sugar. This is an advantage to me for a couple of reasons. First and foremost I appreciate it because I am trying to cut back on the amount of unnecessary sugars and flavorings in my diet, and especially ingredients I cannot pronounce. I also wanted something that would be versatile enough to use in different ways and having an unflavored powder gives me the most flexibility.

I have used it in smoothies with various kinds of fruit as well as in baked goods like homemade protein bars, cookies, etc. I also liked that it was made from brown rice instead of soy or whey as I eat soy quite a bit already and am trying to cut back on animal products like dairy. It is also very easy to digest.

On the negative side the biggest issue I have is with the fact it does not dissolve as well as other protein powders. Jarrow Rice Protein Powder It tends to clump up even when using a blender and even when distributed easily has a noticeable grittiness to it. I also find that it has a distinct aftertaste even when used in something that is strongly flavored. It's really important to mix it with other flavors like fruit in order to make it palatable. When stirred into milk or water it's pretty unpleasant in my opinion.
